Ultimate Guitar Cruise
Our Story: From Vision to Reality
• 2003: The Classical Guitar Cruise Takes Flight After September 11, 2001, a classical guitarist went looking for a way to keep the music alive. What began as a plan to perform at sea became The Classical Guitar Cruise, launched in 2003: a week of concerts, master classes, and late-night collaboration with David Tanenbaum, Muriel Anderson, Adam Holzman, and Dimitri Diatchenko. The cameras stayed on. That footage still moves guitarists around the world.
• 2003–2027: A Legacy That Endures D'Addario, Hill Guitar Company, Savarez Strings, and Trilogy Guitars backed the maiden voyage, and the idea proved itself. Friendships made on that ship have lasted more than twenty years. The film still circulates. The lesson held: put guitarists on the water together, and something rare happens.
• 2027: Evolution Into The Ultimate Guitar Cruise A conversation with a fellow electric guitarist sparked the next chapter—the first event to unite classical and electric guitarists in one extraordinary experience. Sailing December 4-11, 2027 from San Pedro, California to the Mexican Riviera, this groundbreaking evolution expands the original vision to welcome all guitar styles: classical, electric, flamenco, fingerstyle, and beyond.
• 2027: An Intimate Global Community With Purpose Only 100 places. Seven days. Performances, master classes, clinics, and sessions where traditions actually meet. Fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas, a 501(c)(3), The Ultimate Guitar Cruise now does more than gather players. It teaches, strengthens the instrument’s community, and sends support to youth music programs under real pressure.
